Set amid the spectacular scenery of the Hampshire countryside, the town of Farnborough lies near Aldershot on the northern edge of the county, across the river Blackwater from the rolling hills of Surrey.
The town is easily accessible as it has both swift road (the M3 motorway) and rail (via Waterloo station, for instance) links with the capital and, in recent years, Farnborough's airfield has begun to receive business traffic.
Farnborough is perhaps best known for it's huge bi-annual air-show at the town's aerodrome, which draws over a milion visitors to the area while it runs, also providing a regular shot in the arm for the local economy.
Another attraction for tourists in Farnborough is the final resting place of, among others, late French Ruler Napoleon III - the crypt of St Michael's Abbey, which is a small but perfectly formed medieval church that is well worth a visit.
